Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Applying for a school place if your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan or a Statement of SEN

Children and young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (or Statement of Special Education Needs) follow a different admission and transfer process for a new school.  Please continue to complete Durham County Council’s parental preference form, as part of the admission process to a new school.  You continue to have a right to request a particular school and this will be considered alongside the information that we have about your child’s special educational needs.  The information would have been provided as part of the Education, Health and Care assessment or following the review meeting.

St. Godric’s Catholic Primary School prides itself in being very inclusive and will endeavour to support every child.

If you have any questions about the SEND Local Offer or the School’s SEND Information Report please contact the school and we will try our best to help you.

Nursery Provision

We are very keen to open a nursery as part of our provision at St. Godric’s school. With the support of the Trust, we will hopefully be opening a nursery in the academic year 2024-25. The first stage of the process is consultation with local stakeholders. Please find below an outline of our proposal that also includes the feedback form which you are invited to complete. The consultation period ends on Wednesday 17th April 2024. We will then carefully analyse the responses and publish them on our website.

In-Year applications

Applications are welcome for all year groups during the school year. If you would like to transfer your child from another school, please inform their current school that this is your intention and request a school transfer form. Please contact the school office to inform us that you would like to request a place for your child. Once the school transfer form has been received, parents will be notified if there is place available and transition details will be discussed.
